As executive director of the New Mexico Coalition of Sexual Assault programs, Alexandria Taylor understands how critical paid family and medical leave is for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, who need time off from work to seek medical care, receive crisis counseling, or to relocate to a safe place. As a leader of a non-profit, she’s also deeply invested in the wellbeing of her staff, who face challenging times like everybody else. For Alexandria, passing paid family and medical leave is an opportunity to showcase the “truly new Mexican value” of caring for another.
